Performance in Art Fair Frieze London-Kling&Bang Gallery-Sir
一ヶ月遅れのupですが、先月はアイスランド-レイキャビック Dwarf Galleryでの展示
とArt Fair Frieze Londonでパフォーマンスをしてきました。
Dwarf galleryでの展示This is a circleについてはまた次回のブログで話したいのですが、
今回はArt Fair Frieze London-Kling&Bang Gallery-Sirkusでのパフォーマンスに
ついて書いてみたいと思います。
このKling & Bang Galleryというのは、アイスランドーレイキャビックではとても有名な
アーティストランギャラリー。

このKling & Bang Galleryが伝説のBar-Sirkusをそっくりそのまま４つのコンテナでロンドンに送り、Londonで一番大きいと言われるArt Fair Frieze にてその姿を再現させた。
この伝説のBar-SirkusはBjorkやシガーロスをはじめとするアイスランド中のアーティストたちに愛されたBarで、今年の１月に政治的理由により撤去される事になったそうだ。

このSIRKUSを愛するアイスランドアーティスト達がArt Fair Frieze Londonに乗り込んだ。
Art Fair Frieze Londonはお鼻の高いギャラリストや金持ちのコレクターや関係者でごった返して
いるなか、唯一隅っこで異様な雰囲気をかもしだしているのがこのKling&Bang GalleryのプロジェクトSirkusだった。一歩中へ入るとそこでは本物の酔っぱらい達がパフォーマンスを繰り広げていた。

本場でのパーフォーマンスはかなわなかったが、Oak-to-all-relationsの二人もこの
Art Fair Frieze London-Kling&Bang Gallery-Sirkusで一発ライブパフォーマンスを
してきました。
ちょうどこのときはアイスランドのお金の価値が半分以上落ちて、アイスランドアーティスト達は
ロンドンでお金がおろせないという問題も乗り越え、約１２０,０００euroのお金を集めて、このSIRKUSをロンドンにて実現させた。DirectorのErling T.V. Klingenbergの口座は一杯の借金だそうだが、このアーティスト魂と情熱にエールを送る。
ちなみにこのプロジェクトはArt Fair Frieze LondonのBest No.5の中に入り、ロンドン中のアートメディアが取り上げた。もしかして、来年のArt Fair TokyoでこのSirkusを目にするかもしれない。
